FAQ
Product & Use
What are The Salty Botanical soaks made from?
Each blend combines magnesium-rich salts, botanicals, and essential oils. Every variation will offer a distinct aromatic profile, but all share the same foundation of purity, clean ingredients and intention.
Why is there only one product right now?
We believe in starting with focus and intention. Our first bath soak blend set the standard for quality and ritual we want to be known for. More blends and complementary products are in development, each crafted with the same care, and only released when they’re truly ready.
How should I use the muslin bag?
Each jar includes a muslin bag pre-filled with botanicals. Before placing it in your bath or foot soak, tie the top closed to keep the petals contained. Drop it directly into the water for easy cleanup. If you prefer to pour the contents straight into the tub, know that the botanicals are fully biodegradable but may collect near the drain, simply rinse or wipe them away after your soak to keep plumbing clear. You can reuse the muslin bag for a second soak if it’s rinsed and dried completely between uses.
How should I clean the wooden spoon?
The acacia spoon is made to last, but it does best with gentle care. Hand wash only. Avoid soaking, dishwashers, microwaves, ovens, or direct sunlight, which can dry or warp the wood.
Can I mix The Salty Botanical soaks with other products?
We recommend using the soak on its own. Adding bath bombs, bubbles, or synthetic oils can change the mineral balance and reduce the purity of your ritual.
What if I don’t have a tub or a foot soak container? Can I use it as a scrub?
The full benefits of our salts are best experienced through transdermal absorption, when your body soaks and absorbs magnesium and minerals through warm water.
That said, one of the beautiful things about salts is their versatility. If you’d like to use your blend as a scrub, please note that magnesium flakes are naturally coarser than the fine salts used in traditional scrubs and may feel a bit too intense for sensitive skin, even when combined with a carrier oil. Use gentle, circular motions and avoid applying to freshly shaved or irritated skin.
What type of foot soak container do you recommend?
We recommend stainless steel or copper bowls: they’re durable, non-porous, and don’t carry the risk of plastic leaching when exposed to warm water.
Ceramic and enamel basins, while beautiful, tend to be heavy and less practical for frequent home use.
Whatever container you choose, rinse and dry it thoroughly after each soak to maintain hygiene and prevent any mineral buildup.
Why do you use glass jars instead of plastic or pouches?
We choose glass because it protects the integrity of the salts, looks beautiful enough to repurpose, and aligns with our commitment to cleaner, more sustainable materials. While glass costs more and requires careful shipping, we believe your rituals (and the planet) deserve better than disposable packaging.
What should I do with the jar after use?
Our glass jars are meant to be reused or repurposed. They make beautiful vessels for bath salts, cotton rounds, or dried flowers. Because the satin BOPP label is not easily removable, recycling may vary depending on your local facility’s process. When in doubt, reuse it: that’s always the most sustainable option.
Why does the texture sometimes change?
Our blends are free from emulsifiers and synthetic additives. Because the mineral salts are naturally hygroscopic, their texture may shift slightly with humidity over time. This is expected and does not affect quality or use.
If the salts remain loose or lightly settled, a gentle shake or the included wooden scoop is sufficient. If the salts have compacted firmly near the bottom, do not tap or force the scoop inside the jar. Instead, place the jar gently into warm bath or foot soak water and allow the salts to loosen naturally.
Why is there a silica packet in the jar?
Included to help preserve the blend, the silica packet absorbs excess moisture and helps keep the salts free-flowing. Remove and discard the packet before use
What jar sizes do you offer?
Full Size: 400 cc (13.5 oz jar) filled with 12 oz of salt, a silica packet, and botanicals in a muslin bag.
Mini Size: 120 cc (4 oz jar) filled with 3.5 oz of salt, a silica packet, and botanicals in a muslin bag.

Safety & Sensitivity
Are the soaks for external use only?
Yes. Our products are for external use only and should not be ingested.
Can I use the soaks if I’m pregnant, nursing, or have allergies?
Those who are pregnant, nursing, or sensitive to botanicals or essential oils should consult a healthcare professional before use. A scent-free blend will be available for those with sensitivities to essential oils.
Ritual & Care
How should I store my salts?
Keep the jar tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Because our blends contain natural salts and oils, they may occasionally feel slightly damp or form small clumps. This is normal and doesn’t affect quality. Gently loosen with a clean, dry spoon before use.
Can I reuse the muslin bag?
Yes. Empty and rinse the bag, then allow it to dry completely before your next soak. Some botanicals and essential oils may naturally tint the fabric over time, this is normal and reflects the unique character of each blend.
How often can I use the soaks?
Use as often as your ritual calls for. Some customers enjoy a weekly soak, while others reserve it for moments that need grounding or reset.
